Actify Fitness ("we," "us," or "our") operates Actify—the mobile apps for iOS and Android and the website at actifyfitness.com (collectively, the "Service"). Actify is a gamified fitness companion: personalized workout and nutrition planning, daily scoring, streaks, XP, and progress tracking aligned with how you actually train and eat.
This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and your choices. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account & authentication
When you create an account, we process:
- Email address
- Display name and profile details you choose to provide (including an optional profile photo)
- How you sign in: email and password, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple (handled by Firebase Authentication). We do not receive or store your Google or Apple account passwords.
1.2 Profile & onboarding
To personalize your experience and generate your plans, you may provide information such as:
- Basic demographics (e.g. age range, gender where relevant)
- Body metrics (e.g. height, weight, goals)
- Fitness goals, activity level, experience, preferred workout environment, frequency, and session length
- Injuries, medical conditions, and dietary preferences you disclose
You should only share health-related information you are comfortable having stored for personalization. The Service does not replace professional medical advice.
1.3 Activity & health data you log
Depending on how you use the app, we may store:
- Workout sessions and related data (e.g. exercises, sets, timing, estimated energy expenditure where applicable)
- Nutrition logs (meals, foods, calories, macros when you log them)
- Water intake you record
- Body weight entries you save
- Gamification state tied to your account (e.g. daily score components, streaks, XP, level, achievements)
1.4 Data from Apple Health & Health Connect
iOS: With your permission, we may read or write categories supported via Apple Health (HealthKit)—for example steps, workouts, sleep, or nutrition-related samples—to prefill tracking and keep your dashboard accurate. You can revoke access in the Health app at any time.
Android: On supported devices, we may integrate with Health Connect using the permissions you grant, for a similar purpose. You can manage permissions in your device settings.
We use this data to operate features you expect (scores, targets, progress)—not to sell advertising profiles.
1.5 Photos (Premium food recognition)
If you use a feature that analyzes a meal photo, the image is processed so we can suggest logging. That processing may use AI vision services (see Section 4). Do not submit photos you do not have the right to share.
1.6 Device & technical data
We automatically collect limited technical data such as:
- Device type, OS version, and app build
- Approximate diagnostics (e.g. crash data) to keep the Service stable
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to:
- Authenticate you and maintain your account
- Build and update your workout and nutrition plans from your profile and preferences
- Compute your daily score, streaks, XP, and related gamification
- Show progress, history, and insights in the app
- Sync with Apple Health or Health Connect when you have opted in
- Provide support when you contact us
- Protect security, enforce our terms, and comply with law
3. How We Store & Protect Data
- Transport security: Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) between the app and our servers.
- At rest: We apply industry-standard protections on our cloud infrastructure. Sensitive profile fields may be stored in an encrypted form on our backend.
- Access: APIs require a valid account token; you can only access your own data through normal app use.
No system is perfectly secure. We work to safeguard your information but cannot guarantee absolute security.
4. Service Providers & Processors
We use trusted vendors who process data on our instructions. They may include:
- Google Firebase — authentication and related identity services
- Cloud hosting & database — storage of account and app data
- Cloudinary — hosting of profile images you upload
- RevenueCat — subscription status and purchase validation in coordination with Apple and Google
- OpenAI — only when you use Premium food photo recognition, to interpret meal images you submit
We do not sell your personal information or health data.
5. Sharing & Disclosure
Beyond processors above, we may disclose information if:
- Required by law, regulation, or valid legal process
- Necessary to protect the rights, safety, or integrity of users, Actify Fitness, or the public
- Involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer—we will notify you of any material change in control where required
6. Your Rights & Choices
6.1 Access & correction
You can review and update much of your information in the app (Profile and related settings). For other requests, email support@actify.fit.
6.2 Deletion
You may delete your account from the app or by email. See our Data Deletion page. After deletion we remove associated app data from our systems within a reasonable period, subject to legal retention needs.
6.3 Health permissions
Revoke Apple Health or Health Connect access anytime in system settings. That does not delete historical data already stored in your account unless you delete the account or remove entries in-app.
6.4 EEA, UK & California
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (e.g. access, portability, objection, restriction, erasure, or complaint to a regulator). Contact support@actify.fit to exercise applicable rights.
7. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 where a higher age applies). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
8. International Transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for transfers from the EEA/UK.
9. Retention
We keep data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. After account deletion, we delete or anonymize personal data except where law requires a longer retention (e.g. limited billing records held by app stores).
10. Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated through the app or email where appropriate.
